Country is Practically Elegant !!! (Segment 1)

This is just a short entry to introduce you to "Country Elegance" through some paintings that I have done, that are for anyone that would like to purchase "Signed Originals." With the way the economy is going these days we all have to tightened our budgets, but we don't have to skimp on originality, practicality, or elegance. I will be focusing on one painting at a time, so this week we are focusing on one of my favorites that I have completed back in 1995 that has adorned our home for years.

We live in the country, so I really wanted to used a complimentary decor that would accent a "homey atmosphere"; and since I was an Artist the only logical thing in mind would be to paint paintings that I would like to have on my walls. I used my talent to paint the canvas with scenes from my imagination, while using old barn wood for the frames!!! This idea didn't sound so good at first, but when I got into it, it was really fun to do and the out come was really impressive!!

Now mind you this was done in 1995, I used oils for the scenery painting, and later on I decided that I wanted the frame to be painted so I used acrylics to paint the old barn wood, and sealed it all in a gloss finish so that it will last many more years to come...here is the results!!!
